A living legend in Cartagena. One of the most well respected artists in the colombian caribbean. In his music and through his lyrics, which he often sings in his native "palenquero" tongue, he strives to preserve the essence of african musical tradition that touched our shores centuries ago, whilst constantly evolving its sound. He created the first champeta band ever, called "Anne Zwing", which ultimately derived into the simpler form, "Ane Swing", meaning "with rich flavour".  He has stamped colombian music with a unique signature that has influenced artists, musicologists and dancers. And will continue to do so!
