On the shores of the Magdalena River, in Barranquilla, the prophecy said a child would be born on January 20, blessed by the breeze of the carnival, the swamp's cayman and the bulls in Sincelejo. Cuddled with champeta music, he was destined by the signs above to carry the sound of champeta across al the party-havens in the galaxy.

 

After crossing the musical seas looking for the desired black gold, he possesses the most valuable treasures in the colombian caribbean 'pico' culture, and he is willing to exhibit them every time he throws down the anchor of his party ship.

 

Monosóniko is a musical instigator, heir to the culture of the afrocolombian soundsystem and of champeta, with a project that fusions the pico's most essential elements: selecta, MC and finger drumming. 

 

Music lover and vinyl collector who joyfully wanders through the most danceable rythms of world musci such as  socca, zouk, calypso, haitian compa, soukouss, soweto, highlife, dancehall, funky, soul, afrobeat, salsa, jibaro, bullerengue, cumbia  and of course champeta, a predominant genre in his repertoire.
